I know it when I see it

Yesterday, we were Joy Dai Buell's students at one of her plein air landscape classes. We made the trek amidst the beach traffic up to Rockport and settled on a bluff overlooking Rockport harbor.

This was my first attempt using acrylic paints. Karen had given me a crash introduction a few days earlier which gave me enough techique to muddle through. Having way too much exposure and enthusiasm for impressionist painting, I find it satisfactory to go crazy with lots of blobs of color. Let the viewer make sense of it all, you know they will.

Art class review

The photo above is taken of the review of the class' efforts. It was a perfect day.
