The rule of thumb we were given when bringing up our daughter was: the guest count for a child's birthday party should be equal to the child's age. Well, it wasn't even close as Jen & Jordi invited all of Josie's friends and then some for a backyard party at our house yesterday. Must have been 15 toddlers running about for a few hours on a very nice afternoon.
Josie was a bit overwhelmed early in the festivities as more and more people kept arriving. And they were swarming over all of her toys out in the back yard. What's up with that? After spending a little quiet time inside looking out through the window, she got back to the party. Chowing down on some of her mom's mac and cheese helped too.
The bounce castle was a big hit as you can see. Cake and ice cream and bouncing. Amazingly, hardly any injuries and no one hurled. The party was a big success.
